Abstract: |
This study investigated the intricate relationships between organizational trust, passion at work (PAW), and knowledge sharing within healthcare organizations, utilizing a sample of 170 healthcare professionals from diverse Israeli medical institutions. Grounded in organizational psychology and knowledge management theoretical frameworks, the research explored the complex mechanisms of knowledge transfer in medical teams where information exchange critically impacts patient outcomes. The findings revealed a robust positive correlation between trust and knowledge sharing, with a nuanced differentiation in passion types. Aligned with the dualistic passion model, harmonious passion demonstrated a significantly stronger connection to knowledge sharing compared to obsessive passion. Regression analysis revealed that trust, harmonious passion, and obsessive passion collectively explained 51.5% of the variance in knowledge sharing. Trust demonstrated the strongest unique contribution (β = 0.631), followed by harmonious passion (β = 0.188), while obsessive passion showed no independent effect when controlling for other predictors. The study's theoretical contributions extend beyond existing research by integrating emotional and social factors in understanding knowledge sharing behaviors, expanding the dualistic passion model into knowledge transfer domains. Practically, the research provides healthcare managers with evidence-based strategies for cultivating knowledge-sharing cultures, emphasizing the critical importance of building trust-based organizational environments and fostering conditions that promote harmonious passion in facilitating voluntary knowledge exchange. |
